I'm Kiana
Kiana D. Powell, MBA, believes in the power of dreams and hard work. She encourages her clients to visualize their goals, and works with them to develop a concrete plan of action. Her approach to public relations has been labeled “fresh,” and her dedication to her clients is unmatched.
A native of Miami, FL, Kiana recognizes the shift that is taking place as South Florida asserts itself as a global force in the entertainment, startup, and non-profit arenas. When it comes to the game of success, she knows firsthand what can happen when an underestimated player takes the lead. As her clients seek to engage the community around them, Kiana’s connections and skills have elevated their projects and moved their ideas forward.
Recognizing the need for a fresh perspective in the marketplace, Kiana launched Forward Public Relations in 2017. Forward PR takes a unique approach to public relations by using authenticity and conscientiousness to promote the cause behind a brand, while implementing its Millennial flare. As the leader of the Forward Team, Kiana understands that what ultimately makes the “PR machine” work, is human connectedness. As a true connector of people, Kiana ensures that Forward PR serves as a choice agency that embodies innovation, advancement and empowerment for entrepreneurs and young brands who are seeking to gain notoriety throughout the community.

Prior to starting Forward PR, Kiana served as a crucial team member for other agencies, where she cut her teeth working on music festivals and concerts like Jazz in the Gardens and Funk Fest Miami. She has further expanded her skills as a public relations expert by leading grand scale campaigns for growing cities and politicians, such as the City of Miami Gardens, City of Lauderhill, City of Lauderdale Lakes and Senator Oscar Braynon, II. Kiana also worked with iHeart Radio’s Papa Keith to launch the inaugural People Matter Fest, a musical experience designed to empower and inspire communities most affected by gun violence.
Kiana is a proud Alum of Florida A & M University, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Public Relations. She went on to complete her Master’s in Business Administration with a Marketing Concentration from the Devry-Keller Graduate School of Management in the spring of 2017. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated's Gamma Zeta Omega Chapter, Board Member of Just An Accident Stop Hit-And-Runs 501 (c)(3), and volunteer with initiatives focusing on mothers & families, women, young girls and entrepreneurship. As a woman in business, Kiana understands the need for self-care, and spends her free time spending time with family & friends, and exploring with her husband, two sons and daughter. Her favorite saying is, “Own your magic, and ignore the outside chatter!”
